Enhancement requests
Ask HAPR for an improvement, follow its quote and progress, and approve or reject a quote when you are picked to.
An enhancement request asks for a change or a new feature, as opposed to a problem report. You send it from the help panel. HAPR replies with a quote of the hours the work needs, the people picked to approve it decide, and you follow it all on the Enhancement requests page.
Enhancement requests are available when your organisation is on an enterprise plan. View-only accounts cannot send them. If you cannot see the options below, ask your administrator.
Ask for an improvement
- 1Press Help & Support in the corner of any page. See Help chat and support.
- 2Press Enhancement request.
- 3Fill in the form.
- Title (required). A short name for the change.
- What do you need? (required). Describe the change, where it would appear and how you would use it.
- Expected behaviour (optional). What should happen once it is built.
- Why does it matter? (optional). For example, it saves the team an hour per event.
- Priority (required). Low is nice to have with no deadline, Normal would help your day-to-day work, and High is needed for an upcoming event or deadline.
- Screenshots or files (optional). Drop files, choose them, or paste an image. You can add up to 5 files, each up to 25 MB. Images, videos, PDF, CSV, Excel, Word and text files are accepted.
- 4Press Send request.
You see Request sent with a reference number, and a copy arrives in your inbox. Press View my requests to go straight to the page that follows it. HAPR also records which page you were on, so the team can see what the request is about.
If the title or the description is empty, the form says Give it a title and describe what you need. Nothing is sent until both are filled in.
Follow your requests
Open your user menu from your initials in the top bar and press Enhancement requests. The page lists the requests you sent, and any you were asked to approve.
Three counts sit at the top.
- Sent by you
- Still open
- Waiting for approval
If you have sent a great many, the page shows the latest ones and says so.
Under the counts, press Open to hide finished requests, or All to see everything. All is the default. Each row shows the reference, when it was sent, the title, a line saying whose move it is, when it was last updated, the hours quoted once there is a quote, and the status. A request sent by a colleague also says who asked for it.
With no requests yet, the page says You have not sent a request yet.

Open a request
Press a row to open it in a panel on the right. Close the panel to come back to the list.
At the top, a progress line runs Requested, Quote, Approval, Work and Done, with a sentence saying what happens next. A request that was declined or cancelled is marked on the step where it stopped.
The panel has two tabs.
- Details shows what you asked, with the expected behaviour, the reason, the priority, when it was sent and your attachments. Below that is the Quote. It gives the hours, the complexity (Small, Medium or Large), the timeline, a summary and any note for the approvers. If HAPR changes the quote, the version number shows. Once an approver has decided, the decision shows with their name, the time and their note.
- Activity is the full history. It records when the request was sent, when the quote was saved, sent for approval or withdrawn, each decision, each status change, hours taken from or returned to the pool, and every comment.
Add a comment
- 1Open the Activity tab.
- 2Type in the comment box. Press Attach to add files.
- 3Press Add comment.
Everyone who can open the request sees the comment, and it stays in the history. HAPR is emailed. Reword suggests a clearer wording, which you can accept with Use this or ignore with Keep mine.
If you comment too often in a short time, the page asks you to wait a little.
Approve or reject a quote
When HAPR sends a quote, it picks the people who approve it. Any user of your organisation can be picked, except a view-only one. If you are picked, you are emailed with a Review and approve button, and the request appears at the top of the page under Waiting for your approval.
- 1Sign in, then open the link in the email. If you were signed out, sign in first and open the link again. You can also open Enhancement requests from your user menu.
- 2Open the request and read the quote on the Details tab.
- 3Press Review and approve, or Reject.
Approving shows what will happen.
- The quoted hours come out of your organisation's pool of hours, and the dialog shows how many are left.
- HAPR is told and can start the work.
- Your name and the time are saved as the approval record.
You can add a Note, then press Approve. If the pool has fewer hours left than the quote, you cannot approve. The dialog says how many are left and asks you to ask HAPR to raise the pool.
Rejecting needs a Reason, which HAPR sees. No hours are used, and HAPR can send a new quote or decline the request. Press Reject quote to confirm.
Only the people picked for that quote can decide it.
What the emails say
You are emailed as a request moves on, and every email links back to the request. Open the link and sign in if asked.
- When you send a request, with a copy of what you sent.
- When a quote goes for approval, to the approvers, with a copy for the requester.
- When a quote is approved or rejected.
- When HAPR declines the request, starts work, finishes it or cancels it.
- When someone comments.
- When a quote is withdrawn to be changed. Approvers get a new email when the updated quote is sent.
The link opens that request straight away on the Enhancement requests page.
Good to know
- No hours are used until an approver approves the quote.
- A quote that changed after you opened it cannot be approved. Reload the page to see the new one.
- Screenshots may hold personal data. Check them before attaching.
- To report something that is broken rather than ask for a change, see Reporting a problem.
If something looks wrong
- You are not one of the approvers this quote was sent to. You were not picked for this quote. Ask HAPR to add you.
- The quote changed since you opened it. Reload to see the new one. Reload the request and read the new quote before deciding.
- Someone else has already moved this request on. Reload to see where it stands. Another approver or HAPR got there first. Reload the page.
- There are not enough hours left in the pool for this quote. Ask HAPR to raise the pool.
- That request no longer exists, or it is not one of yours. The link may be for a request you cannot open. Check you are signed in as the right person.
- Could not send the request. Please try again. Check your connection and send it again. More than 5 files, a file over 25 MB, or a file type HAPR does not accept is refused with a message naming the problem.
