Your data and privacy

Download everything HAPR holds about your account, or ask for your account to be deleted.

For everyone with an account 4 min read Updated

This screen is for your own account only. It lets you download a copy of what HAPR holds about you, or ask for your account to be deleted. Anything held about you as an event attendee belongs to the organiser, so it is not here.

Open the screen

  1. 1
Press your avatar at the top right of any page.
  2. 2
    Choose Your data and privacy.
The user menu, opened from your initials.
  1. 1Report a problem.
  2. 2Open the reports you have sent.
  3. 3Open Your data and privacy.
  4. 4Sign out.

Use Back to hub at the top of the screen to return to your events.

  1. 1Download everything HAPR holds about your account.
  2. 2Ask for your account to be deleted.

Download your data

  1. 1
    Open Your data and privacy.
  2. 2
Under Download your data, press Download my data.
  3. 3
Your browser saves one file named my-hapr-data.json.

The file holds the following.

  • Your profile and account details.
  • Your help chat history.
  • Issue reports you sent, and comments you wrote on reports.
  • Enhancement requests you made.
  • Workspace invitations sent to your email address.
  • A record of support tickets that were forwarded to you, with the date but not the text.
  • The changes you made to system emails.

It does not hold attendee records that an organiser keeps about you. Ask the event organiser for those.

Ask to delete your account

You need to have signed in within the last 15 minutes. If you have not, the screen asks you to sign in again first.

  1. 1
    Open Your data and privacy.
  2. 2
Read the Delete your account section. It shows how many days the waiting period lasts.
  3. 3
If the screen says For your safety, sign in again first, press sign in again, then return to the screen. You then have 15 minutes to confirm.
  4. 4
Type DELETE in the Type DELETE to confirm box. Capital letters are optional.
  5. 5
Press Delete my account. The button stays off until the box says DELETE.

The screen then shows the date your account will be deleted. Nothing is removed before that date.

Cancel a deletion

  1. 1
    Open Your data and privacy.
  2. 2
In the Delete your account section, check the deletion date.
  3. 3
    Press Keep my account.

Your account stays as it is. You do not need to sign in again to cancel. You can ask again later.

What happens when the waiting period ends

HAPR deletes your account automatically on the date shown. The waiting period is 14 days at the moment, and the screen always shows the number.

  • Your account and sign-in are deleted.
  • Your help chats and the issue reports you filed are deleted, with their files.
  • Your name is removed from comments and enhancement requests you made.
  • Workspace invitations sent to your address are deleted.
  • Your address is removed from the system email history and from report schedules. A schedule left with no recipient is deleted.
  • Billing records stay, without your address.

Deletion cannot be undone once the date has passed.

Good to know

  • The screen is available to every signed-in user. It only ever shows your own account.
  • Cancelling is possible at any time before the date. After it, the account is gone.
  • Event data is not deleted with your account. Attendee records stay with the organiser.

If something looks wrong

  • You are the last admin of your organisation. Make another user an admin first, so the organisation is not left without one. You are the only admin and other people still use the organisation. Make one of them an admin (see Managing users), then try again. If you are the only user, this does not apply.
  • For your safety, sign in again (within 15 minutes) before deleting your account. Your last sign-in is too old. Sign in again and confirm within 15 minutes.
  • Type DELETE to confirm. The box did not say DELETE. Type it and try again.
  • Sign in again to continue. Your session has ended. Sign in and open the screen again.
  • Your request could not be saved. Please try again. Nothing was changed. Try again, and contact support if it keeps happening (see Help chat and support).
  • Could not cancel. Please try again. The deletion is still booked. Try again, and contact support if it keeps happening.
  • The export could not be completed. Nothing was downloaded; please try again. Press Download my data again. A partial file is never offered.
